Ken Robinson on TED 2006

As a designer, I recognize that there is an element that is very much needed in our further education and working life, and this is creativity.

Education today is increasingly taking away children from this area; this is what Ken Robinson proposes at the February 2006 TED conference in Monterey, CA. He is an expert in creativity who presents his research and opinion of this conference.

The way to present the topic was quite interesting because he brings out the humor as communication strategy, keep audiences entertained and they will listen, so he inserts his message with a touch of humor.

One of his phrases:
"We do not grow Into creativity, we grow out of it. Educated Or Rather we get out of it. "

It demonstrates clearly the dissociation that the government has (in general in all countries) regarding creativity in the education, and they appear to be more concerned about generating Childs as robots than unique individuals.

The college seeks to foster our creativity, they teach us techniques for this, but clearly it’s not a process that is rooted in us that’s why we find it hard to fly our imagination.

Personally I do not think this is schools fault only, but also of the family, are the parents who have to encourage the education of their children through all necessary education techniques, and one of them is to encourage creativity and individuality.
